Characteristics of Acacia Honey
Our Raw Organic Acacia honey comes from the hills of Tuscany. It has been awarded 1st place in the category at the "Roberto Franci" award in Montalcino, the most prestigious Italian Honey competition. It is very fluid and has a transparent yellowish hue. The flavor is subtle and delicate while the aroma is mild and persistent. Acacia honey has a very low sucrose content and a high fructose level, so it tends to be the primary choice for diabetics.
Flavor: A slight floral flavor with hints of vanilla flavor and no aftertaste. It is the classic honey flavor.
Aroma: A persistent, yet delicate floral profile.
Color: Pale yellow. Very transparent.
Physical Consistency: Due to its high concentration of fructose, Acacia is slow to crystallize and will remain in a liquid state for a long period of time.
Uses: Due to its mild flavor, Acacia is often considered the multi-purpose honey and can easily be added to liquids, doughs, and batters for a kick of sweetness. It’s delicious when paired with cheeses, especially pecorino and gorgonzola cheese. It is ideal for mixing with beverages because it sweetens without altering the taste of the drink.
